We have a predoctoral position available of an outstanding graduate interested in working towards a PhD in molecular mechanisms of lung injury and repair. Candidates with a competitive CV are encouraged to contact with us.
The printed version of our paper on the role of neutrophils in lung repair has been published in the current issue of Thorax. After seeing the poor outcome of neutropenic patients submitted to mechanical ventilation, we decided to induce neutropenia AFTER Ventilator-Induced lung injury. We found that release of MMP-9 from neutrophils is critical for the later repair phase. You can find it here.
